April 2018 - Exciting Update - THE NEW SCHOOL IS BUILT
Having traveled to Africa to see the new school, meet the teachers and students, it is exciting to see the children busy using the Montessori materials placed in the classrooms! Thanks to the support of our families and staff as this first phase reaches completion!

December 2017 - Plans for "Our Sister School"
Many children in the village of Ngai in Northern Uganda have never set foot in a school. If they are fortunate enough to attend school, the only three preschool classes meet inside a small house, in a garage or outside under a tree. Following preschool, in order to attend first grade, the children are required to travel long distances to a poor-performing government school. Most families in this village do not have their own means of transportation and cannot afford to pay for transportation to and from school daily. Instead parents will re-enroll their older children in preschool classes just so they can remain in school. Ngai is in desperate need of a quality school within the town.

Montessori Creative Learning School is excited to partner with Ignite Change who has purchased land in Ngai to build an appropriate preschool and primary school to accommodate the community needs. The currently operating preschool classes will shift to the new location and will be adapted into Montessori!
While learning more about Uganda and the children who attend school in Ngai, our students are busy making small gifts for the children in our "sister school." Photo books and a brief bio of each child which includes their favorite part of being a student at MCLS will be sent to Ngai. Teachers from MCLS will also travel to Ngai on short-term trips to work alongside and train teachers there.
